Right after three months when Christian B.peper and two other attorneys inaugurated a law firm in downtown St.Louis on Dec 7, 1941 Japan launched a massive strike on Pearl Harbor.
Although Mr. Peper has three juvenile but he aimed to lend a hand with war efforts. His dedication towards his work he continued his practice for law in the day time and helped to prosper his new law firm. Afterwards in the evening he used to work multiple hours at a defense plant for making artillery parts on metal lathe.
Today this law firm known as Husch Blackwell and bills claims to be one of the largest law firm of Missouri with highest number of attorneys;420, in the state. The sad incident of the death of the Christian Baird peper passed away on Monday (July, 11, 2011) at his native town and native state at the age of 100. Until three weeks back when he malformed at his office, he was regularly attending his office. He was diagnosed of pneumonia.
Mr peper was a great art lover and he used to visit the St. Louis Art Museum, at the age of 10; impressed by the antique figurine of Romans and Greek. Later own he was appointed as board member further he remained the chief counsel for long-term. Due to this nature he helped the museum a lot by endowing and bestowing. Date of birth of Mr peper is Dec. 5, 1910, at the age of eight his father breathed his last due to the Great Flu Epidemic of 1918-1919.
Christian studied in St. Louis University and graduated further he also graduated from Harvard University aiming to become a teacher. Later on he changed his mind to become a lawyer so he graduated from Washington University School of law, further he studied tax law at Yale University, before this he was editor in chief of Quarterly related to law.
In 1941, Mr. Peper and his friend martin and martin’s father, William McChesney Martin inaugurated the law firm named as martin Peper Martin.
Christian used to call law as “community of scholars”, said by bob Tomaso, of Hush Blackwell executive board. In 2001-2002, the museum displayed 40 paintings from his personal collection for exhibition and named it, “A gentleman collects”.
Associates of Mr peper bethink of him as great man and eminent person. On one occasion, he at once expresses regret after figuring that he was putting on a hat before a cluster of ladies. The memorial service was held at 10.30 a.m. on July 14 at St. Anselm Parish at the Abbey of St. Louis, 530 South Mason Road. Entombment was held concealed at Bellfontaine Graveyard.
